Job Summary

The director of communications will be a critical member of the Corporate Communications team supporting all internal communications for the Chief Operating Officer at Optimum. This will include the company’s CX team, Customer Service & Care, Network Services, Data & Analytics, and Business Transformation areas. This role serves as a strategic communications partner and trusted operator, responsible for shaping, coordinating, and executing high impact internal communications across the organization.
This individual will partner closely with senior executives to translate strategy into clear, compelling narratives, ensure alignment across leadership and frontline teams, and drive disciplined execution of key forums, meetings, and initiatives. The role is highly hands-on and suited for someone who can think strategically, communicate with clarity, and move quickly from concept to execution.

Responsibilities

•    Executive & Organizational Communications
o    Serve as the primary internal communications partner for the COO
o    Develop and deliver high quality, end-to-end messaging that reinforces strategic priorities, operational performance and organizational expectations
o    Draft, refine, and manage communications including executive emails, organizational announcements, talking points, FAQs and change communications
o    Ensure consistency, clarity and tone across all communications, while tailoring messages for diverse audiences and channels
o    Partner with cross-functional teams (HR, Finance, Marketing, Corporate Communications peers, etc.) to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging
•    Leadership Forums, All Hands and Offsites
o    Lead planning and execution for all hands meetings, leadership forums, offsites and other large-scale leadership engagements
o    Own agendas, messaging flow, presentation development, speaker preparation and follow-ups to ensure meetings drive alignment and outcomes
o    Partner with leaders to create compelling narratives and visuals that connect strategy, performance and priorities
•    Executive Presentation Development
o    Create and manage high-quality executive presentations, including board facing materials, leadership updates and operational reviews
o    Translate complex operational, financial and performance information into clear, actionable messaging tailored for different audiences
o    Maintain high standards for accuracy, polish and visual clarity
•    Operational Support
o    Act as a thought partner to the Chief of Staff and COO on planning, prioritization and execution of key initiatives
o    Track action items, commitments and deliverables from leadership meetings and forums to support follow-through and accountability 
o    Anticipate needs, proactively resolve issues and ensure leaders are prepared and positioned for success
o    Support ad hoc initiatives and special projects as business priorities evolve

•    10+ years of experience in executive communications, corporate communications, chief of staff, strategy, or a related role supporting senior leadership.
•    Proven experience supporting C-suite or senior executives in a complex, fast-paced organization.
•    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, compelling narratives.
•    Strong executive presence and judgment; comfortable interacting with leaders at all levels of the organization.
•    Advanced proficiency in executive presentation development (e.g., PowerPoint) with a strong eye for storytelling and detail.
•    Highly organized, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
•    Preferred experience supporting operations, technology, network services or customer-facing organizations
