Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for providing operational, analytical, and logistical support for Optimum’s local Field Sales and Events teams. This role helps ensure the Events team is properly scheduled, equipped, organized, and supported with the tools, reporting, and processes needed to execute successful community activations and sales events. This position will manage the day-to-day operational infrastructure of the Events team, including event scheduling, logistics documentation, calendar management, inventory tracking, Workfront entries, invoice coordination, sales forecasting, expense reporting, and event performance analysis. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with large sets of information. This role is best suited for someone who can bring structure, discipline, and visibility to a fast-moving field organization while helping leadership make informed decisions through clear reporting and data-driven insights.

 

Responsibilities

Event Scheduling & Logistics:
•Build and maintain a detailed event schedule for the local Events team, including approximately 14 Event Representatives.
•Develop event schedules three to four weeks in advance to provide clear visibility into upcoming assignments.
•Create event logistics cards outlining event details, staffing needs, timing, location, setup requirements, materials needed, and execution expectations.
•Maintain accurate event calendar entries and ensure event details are communicated to the appropriate team members and stakeholders.
•Coordinate with Field Sales, Area Directors, Event Managers, Marketing, and other departments to support staffing and event execution where appropriate.
•Source event opportunities as needed to help fill schedule gaps and support market coverage needs.


Event Execution Support:
•Conduct occasional field visits to assess event setup, table presentation, booth appearance, marketing materials, promotional items, and overall execution standards.
•Develop and maintain event execution checklists to help ensure consistent setup and brand presentation across events.
•Identify operational gaps in the field and recommend process improvements to strengthen event readiness and execution.


Reporting, Forecasting & Analysis:
•Track event activity, sales results, lead generation, expenses, and other key performance indicators.
•Analyze event performance and provide reporting on sales production, event spend, and return on investment.
•Build forecasts for event activity and sales production based on staffing levels, event volume, historical trends, and expected performance.
•Support regional directors and local leadership with ad hoc reporting and analysis, including work that may require reviewing and organizing large data sets.
•Package forecasts, event results, sales performance, ROI, and key insights into clear summaries for leadership review.
•Use data to identify trends, gaps, opportunities, and recommendations for improving event productivity and operational efficiency.


Workfront, Inventory & Administrative Operations:
•Maintain and manage Workfront entries to ensure headquarters and regional leadership have visibility into local event and marketing activity.
•Manage event-related inventory, including promotional items, giveaways, printed materials, table supplies, and other event assets.
•Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment needs to ensure Event Representatives are properly equipped.
•Support invoice processing for chamber memberships, sponsorships, community partnerships, and local event-related expenses.
•Maintain a detailed expense repository and provide reporting on month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and year-over-year community investment.


Cross-Functional Coordination:
•Serve as a key operational point of contact between headquarters Marketing and regional teams for special activations, experiential campaigns, and required reporting.
•Gather, organize, and submit information requested by headquarters teams in the appropriate format and timeline.
•Help ensure regional event activity is properly documented, communicated, and aligned with broader sales and marketing priorities.
•Partner with cross-functional teams to support event planning, reporting, execution readiness, and post-event follow-up.

 

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Operations, Marketing, Economics, Finance, Analytics, or a related field.
•Three to five years of experience preferred in operations, business analysis, sales operations, marketing operations, event operations, or a related analytical role.
•Experience working with large data sets and translating information into clear insights, summaries, or recommendations.
•Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
•Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to manage multiple priorities, schedules, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
•Experience with reporting, forecasting, KPI tracking, expense tracking, and executive-style summaries.
•Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with field teams, regional leaders, and headquarters partners.
•Comfortable managing process-oriented work, including documentation, calendars, invoices, inventory, and operational workflows.
•Experience with Workfront, Power BI, Tableau, Google BigQuery, Salesforce, or similar platforms preferred.
•Familiarity with AI tools or willingness to use AI-enabled platforms to improve productivity, reporting, and workflow management preferred.
•Telecom, field sales, retail, event operations, or marketing operations experience preferred but not required.
•Willingness to conduct occasional local field visits as needed.
•Reliable personal vehicle (where applicable), valid driver’s license, car insurance, and a satisfactory driving record.

Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience. The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $102,816.00 - $168,912.00 / year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
