Job Summary
The Data Collection & Customer Data Platform Manager will serve as the technical leader responsible for the design, implementation, governance, and optimization of Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) data collection and customer data capabilities across web and mobile properties. This role will own the end-to-end data collection strategy, including Web SDK and Mobile SDK implementations, Adobe Experience Data Model (XDM) architecture, Adobe Client Data Layer standardization, quality assurance, and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA) enablement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on Adobe expert with deep experience architecting scalable data collection frameworks, building enterprise-grade XDM schemas, integrating customer data into Adobe Experience Platform, and ensuring data quality and governance across digital channels. This individual will partner closely with Engineering, Analytics, Product, Marketing, and external implementation partners to establish best practices and accelerate Adobe platform maturity.
Responsibilities
Adobe Experience Platform & Data Architecture
- Own the enterprise strategy for Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) data collection and implementation.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable XDM schemas, field groups, identities, datasets, and governance frameworks.
- Lead ingestion and mapping of digital, behavioral, and customer data into Adobe Experience Platform.
- Establish best practices for Adobe Real-Time CDP data readiness and audience activation.
- Define and manage identity resolution requirements and customer profile enablement.
- Drive Adobe platform adoption and maturity across the organization.
Data Collection & Tagging
- Own implementation and governance of Adobe Web SDK and Mobile SDK across all digital properties.
- Design and maintain scalable tagging and data collection frameworks using Adobe Data Collection.
- Develop and enforce standards for Adobe Client Data Layer and event-driven architecture.
- Partner with engineering teams to ensure consistent event tracking and instrumentation.
- Establish naming conventions, taxonomy standards, and documentation processes.
Customer Journey Analytics (CJA)
- Lead implementation and optimization of Customer Journey Analytics.
- Design reporting-ready datasets and data views within CJA.
- Enable cross-channel customer journey analysis through properly structured XDM implementations.
- Partner with analytics teams to ensure business requirements are translated into scalable data solutions.
- Identify opportunities to improve measurement, attribution, and customer insights.
Quality Assurance & Governance
- Develop automated and manual QA processes for digital data collection.
- Create validation frameworks for SDK implementations, event collection, and XDM mapping.
- Establish data quality monitoring and issue resolution processes.
- Ensure data governance standards and privacy requirements are adhered to throughout the data lifecycle.
- Serve as the escalation point for critical data collection and reporting issues.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead strategic relationships with Adobe consultants, implementation partners, and technical vendors.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to internal analysts, tagging specialists, and developers.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, Marketing, and Data teams to prioritize initiatives.
- Influence enterprise roadmap decisions related to customer data, analytics, personalization, and activation.
- Drive continuous improvement and platform innovation across the Adobe ecosystem.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, Marketing Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in digital analytics, marketing technology, customer data platforms, or data collection architecture.
- 5+ years of hands-on Adobe Experience Platform experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Experience Platform, Real-Time CDP, Customer Journey Analytics, Adobe Data Collection, Web SDK, Mobile SDK, XDM, Identity Services, and server-side data collection concepts.
- Deep understanding of customer identity management and customer data architecture.
- Experience building enterprise-wide data layers and event taxonomies.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, web technologies, APIs, and mobile app tracking frameworks.
- Experience working in Agile product and engineering environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Adobe Experience Platform Architect certification.
- Adobe Customer Journey Analytics certification.
- Adobe Real-Time CDP certification.
- Experience implementing Adobe solutions at enterprise scale.
- Experience with OneTrust or privacy/compliance platforms.
- Experience integrating Adobe platforms with cloud data warehouses and CRM platforms.
- Experience managing system integrators and Adobe professional services engagements.
