Job Summary

The Residential Growth Manager (RGM) is responsible for driving sustainable growth across assigned residential communities. Their work begins as Optimum service becomes available in targeted growth areas and continues throughout the sales lifecycle. As the central point of coordination, the RGM connects teams, resources, and market insights around the needs of each community — creating greater synergy across our teams while helping Optimum grow and deliver a simpler, more consistent customer experience. 

Responsibilities

Knowing the Community

  • Drive penetration and subscriber growth across assigned communities by analyzing performance trends, move-in activity, and key metrics to identify opportunities.

  • Track and communicate competitive activity, including fiber overbuilds, competitor offers, and new providers, and develop strategies to respond.

  • Maintain an understanding of service availability, community activity, and local conditions that may impact sales execution; escalate readiness concerns as needed.

  • Provide recurring updates to leadership on community performance, forecasts, competitive activity, and growth initiatives.

Building the Growth Plan

  • Partner with Business Development to transition communities from construction readiness to local sales execution, focusing on penetration and subscriber growth.

  • Turn community and market insights into targeted growth strategies, aligning tactics and resources to each community’s needs.

  • Identify demographic trends, competitive activity, offers, messaging, and tools to support local teams when launching newly serviceable communities.

Bringing the Right Teams Together

  • Build and maintain relationships with HOAs, property managers, and on-site sales/leasing teams to support growth and the customer experience.

  • Coordinate with team leaders to address performance gaps, community needs, and growth opportunities.

  • Partner across Direct Sales, New Build Sales, Field Services, Marketing, Events, eCommerce, and Outbound to maximize penetration and customer experience.

  • Work with Marketing and Events on messaging, collateral, activations, grand openings, and resident engagement.

  • Increase Optimum’s visibility through community websites, resident pages, bulletin boards, move-in materials, and other branding opportunities.

  • Own community-level referral program performance, driving awareness, participation, leads, and conversion.

How Success Is Measured

  • Residential penetration and subscriber/net-add growth

  • Growth in newly launched and underperforming communities

  • Referral program participation and conversion

  • Effectiveness of community growth initiatives

  • Response to competitive activity and market opportunities

Qualifications

 

    • 3+ years of account management, business development, or outside sales experience. Telecom, cable, homebuilding, or real estate experience preferred.
    • Experience building relationships with HOAs, property managers, builders, or developers.
    • Ability to manage multiple accounts and relationships at different stages.
    • Strong collaboration skills across sales, marketing, and operations.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to develop and execute account plans independently.
    • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within assigned territory.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
